The Elderly Citizens Assistance Scheme(ECAS),was a laudable programme and one of its kind in Lagos state initiated by the no 1 Female Senator in Lagos District-Senator Mrs Oluremi Tinubu .O.O.N, as this years Theme-‘Through the Eyes of the Elderly’,She made this programme as a sign of the love,Care and Passion she has for the Elderly of the Aged ones in her Senatorial District,Five Local Government and 8 LCDA,s through out the state she present them with the gift of money and bag of useful home items,she further made it known to the elders that during Yuletide season,she put smiles on their facesof in other for them to merry and enjoyed with the token given to them. ThevExecutive Chairman Hon Saheed Bankole said it his Welcome speech wish he really appreciated the annual programme of Senator Oluremi Tinubu went a long role in the lives of the Elderly that he has to pick out a representative from the three recognize d religion for spiritual wishes of progress and continuity to the initiator of the programme. Yeye Oluremi Tinubu was ably represented by the chairperson of Eti-Osa local Government Alhaja Mrs Siyanbola Bankole ,who read in her speech that Yeye Oluremi really appreciated the role played by the elders in her re-election into the Senatorial seat,she promised she will not relent in her efforts of good deeds rather she will do more. She further highlighted the positive roles she made to development and infrastructural growth of her District I.e funding of Primary health Care centres,Senior Citizens bill,National council for Elderly Persons(Establishment) and the Older Persons(Right and Privileges)Bill to mention but few. There are 100 Beneficiaries(Elders) that Lord the programme,the Party Leaders were not left out,the Women leaders were also present,likewise the Legislative and Executive Members of the Council grace the occasion and the Council key functionaries made the event a laudable one.
